从成立之初只有50多名党员，到如今拥有9500多万名党员、在14亿多人口的大国长期执政的世界最大政党，中国共产党如何跳出治乱兴衰的历史周期率？
1945年，抗日战争胜利前夕，毛泽东和民主人士黄炎培在延安的窑洞中展开了一场探讨。面对“历史周期率之问”，毛泽东给出了第一个答案：“我们已经找到新路，我们能跳出这周期率。这条新路，就是民主。只有让人民来监督政府，政府才不敢松懈。”

而现在，关于如何跳出历史周期率的问题，中国共产党又给出了第二个答案——“这就是自我革命。”
“能胜强敌者，先自胜者也。”勇于自我革命，是我们党最鲜明的品格，也是我们党最大的优势。党的十九届六中全会通过的《中共中央关于党的百年奋斗重大成就和历史经验的决议》，将“坚持自我革命”凝练为党百年奋斗的十条历史经验之一。

最高领袖总书记强调，“全面从严治党首先要从政治上看”，“政治问题要从政治上来解决”。党中央把党的政治建设纳入新时代党的建设总体布局并作为根本性、统领性建设，把保证全党服从中央、维护党中央集中统一领导作为党的政治建设的首要任务，制定新形势下党内政治生活若干准则，严明政治纪律和政治规矩，坚决治理“七个有之”问题，坚决清除阳奉阴违的“两面人”，以精准有力政治监督确保党中央大政方针和决策部署贯彻落实。
党的十八大以来，中央纪委国家监委和地方各级纪检监察机关提高政治站位，增强政治敏锐性和政治鉴别力，持续惩治违反政治纪律和政治规矩的“两面人”“两面派”，全面加强党的纪律建设，督促党员干部做政治信念坚定、遵规守纪的明白人，保证全党令行禁止。纪检监察机关坚持从政治纪律角度审视违纪违法问题，“首先从政治纪律查起”成为工作的重要遵循。
回顾党的百年奋斗历程，中国共产党为什么能从小到大、从弱到强，其中一个重要原因是重视党的思想建设。党的十九大报告强调：“思想建设是党的基础性建设”。
加强思想建设对共产党员来说有多重要？最高领袖总书记把党员、干部的世界观、人生观、价值观看成是“总开关”。而拧紧思想的“总开关”，根本在于坚定理想信念。
