On the coast of the South China Sea, the spring tide is surging again. From April 10th to 13th, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader visited Guangdong, which was his fourth visit to South Guangdong since the 18th CPC National Congress and his second visit to Beijing since the 20th CPC National Congress.
During the four days, the General Secretary passed through Zhanjiang, Maoming and Guangzhou, visited enterprises, ports and rural areas, and delivered an important speech at the report meeting held on the last day of the inspection, deploying a series of major events related to the overall situation of Chinese modernization. Pay close attention to the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
During the inspection, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader repeatedly talked about a Bay Area that attracted worldwide attention — — Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
In Xuwen Port, Zhanjiang, the general secretary said that the port should be built into a modern integrated land and water transportation hub connecting Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Hainan Free Trade Port. At LG’s Guangzhou manufacturing base, the General Secretary issued an invitation to foreign investors: come to China, Guangdong and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Building Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is a major national strategy planned, deployed and promoted by the General Secretary himself.
When he visited Guangdong in December 2012, the General Secretary hoped that Guangdong would join hands with Hong Kong and Macao to build a world-class urban agglomeration with more comprehensive competitiveness.
In July 2017, witnessed by the General Secretary, the Framework Agreement on Deepening the Cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and Promoting the Construction of Greater Bay Area was formally signed.

During this year’s inspection tour in Guangdong, the first thing that the General Secretary focused on at the briefing was the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The General Secretary has given Greater Bay Area a new orientation: making it the strategic fulcrum of the new development pattern, the demonstration place of high-quality development and the leading place of Chinese modernization.
The General Secretary also put forward clear requirements for Guangdong: take the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as a great opportunity and a great article for Guangdong to deepen reform and opening up, put it in the top priority, take the Pearl River Delta as the main position, and make full use of the province’s efforts to do this great thing well.

General Secretary of the Supreme Leader once explained what is "high-quality development" in one sentence: "More specifically, high-quality development means starting from ‘ Is there ’ Turn ‘ Ok ’ 。”

In Guangzhou Automobile Ai ‘an, the General Secretary focused on understanding the progress of enterprises in breaking through key core technologies. On the second day of the inspection, the General Secretary made a special trip to Baiqiao Village, Genzi Town, Gaozhou City, Maoming for investigation. At the briefing, he stressed that it is necessary to speed up the construction of a modern rural industrial system and develop a new rural collective economy.
People’s happiness and well-being is the ultimate goal of promoting high-quality development. In Baiqiao Village, the general secretary pointed out that it is necessary to adhere to the road of common prosperity, strengthen assistance to the later rich, and make everyone’s life better every year.

Make great efforts to solve the problem of unbalanced development between urban and rural areas
Guangdong is the largest economic province in China, but it also has obvious shortcomings. When visiting Guangdong five years ago, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader pointed out that the imbalance between urban and rural development is the biggest shortcoming of Guangdong’s high-quality development, and efforts should be made to turn the shortcoming into a "potential board".
During this visit to Guangdong, the General Secretary once again "took the pulse" for the unbalanced development.

First, "take the pulse" for the imbalance of regional development.
On the first day of inspection, the General Secretary came to Dashuiqiao Reservoir in xuwen county. China is short of water and the distribution of water resources is very uneven, which is also clearly reflected in Guangdong. For a long time, the drought and water shortage in Leizhou Peninsula are severe, and the per capita water resources are less than half of the national level. In August last year, Guangdong water resources allocation project around Beibu Gulf started construction. Dashuiqiao Reservoir is the contact station for this project to deliver water to the south.
In Dashuiqiao Reservoir, the general secretary said that Guangdong should do a good job in optimizing the allocation of water resources, accelerate the construction of water resources allocation projects in an all-round way, promote the solution of the imbalance of regional development, and benefit the broad masses of the people as soon as possible.

China will never close the open door by itself.
In November 2016, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader said at the APEC Leaders Summit held in Lima, Peru, "I have repeatedly stressed that the door to China’s opening will never be closed, but will only grow wider."
During his visit to Guangdong, the General Secretary reiterated that China’s reform and opening-up policy will remain unchanged for a long time, and it will never close the door to the outside world by itself. "All countries that are willing to win-win cooperation with us are willing to work with them to promote the common prosperity and development of the world economy."

The trip to Guangdong coincides with the 45th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up. The solemn declaration of the General Secretary is of unusual significance.

In February, 2021, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader emphasized at the mobilization meeting of Party history study and education that all party comrades should learn history wisely, enhance their trust, respect morality and practice.
