On May 18th, "International Museum Day", CCTV Literature and Art, National Treasure, China Cultural Relics Newspaper and Tencent SSV Digital Culture Laboratory jointly launched an interactive applet "Starry Time Mirror". Through AI technology, the featured cultural relics in small and medium-sized museums can be presented to the public through multiple deductive forms such as AI digital figures and AI cultural creations. Two days ago, in the live broadcast of the theme of "Antiquities are alive, stars debut" museum, the digital man "Stars" also walked from the online to the offline, dressed in the "Stars Ancient Clothing" generated by AI, and walked into the live broadcast room to interact with the public. Live broadcast and open reservation "Stars" explain the drainage for the museum, and help the digital construction of Wenbo through the form of "selling cultural and creative products, fine explanation cards and public welfare donations".
The launch of "Starry Time Mirror" is linked with the theme live broadcast of online and offline museums, which is another wonderful presentation of Tencent SSV Digital Culture Laboratory combining multi-party institutions and resources, and using WeChat platform and Tencent AI capabilities to help the digital construction of cultural relics. It is also a summary of digital achievements launched on the first anniversary of the launch of the museum-assisted project "Stars Project".
Since the launch of the International Museum Day on May 18th last year, under the guidance of National Cultural Heritage Administration and the provincial cultural relics bureaus, Tencent’s "Star Project" has helped more than 100 small and medium-sized museums in China to carry out digital upgrading, covering more than 60 cities and states such as Sichuan, Shandong, Shaanxi and Gansu. These include helping 32 museums to launch official small programs, creating a media flow matrix of cultural relics, assisting small and medium-sized museums to express their collection stories in a diversified way, helping museums to authorize and trade digital resources, promoting the construction of museum volunteer system, and cultivating digital operation talents. Through such efforts, Tencent has created digital tools and platforms for small and medium-sized museums, injecting new vitality into their sustainable development and functional realization.

Improving the ability of AI large model to activate and utilize cultural relics
Connecting museum services and public experience with digital technology is the core goal of "Star Project". The "Starry Time Mirror" launched today relies on Tencent’s Yuan Exploration applet. The AI ability has linked 10 museums to activate the treasures of their town halls. The applet starts with a mirror that combines ancient and modern, with cultural relics outside the mirror and technology inside the mirror. Each cultural relic has been interpreted by AI, reflecting its past and new life, so that cultural relics are no longer static exhibits. Traditional cultural relics have been activated as cultural carriers for interactive experience, and users can experience the Millennium heritage of cultural relics through interactive question and answer. At the same time, cultural relics collide with some daily necessities, and hundreds of cultural and creative products are generated with the help of AI. Every click and interaction of users can help cultural and creative products to be produced as physical products, and users can also become "stars and digital artists" and become cultural inheritors, creators and disseminators.

With the development of the times, the digital protection and promotion of culture has become a trend. On the other hand, small and medium-sized museums all over the country need urgent attention and protection, which are full of nameless cultural treasures. Tencent’s "Star Project" touches the pain points of many small and medium-sized museums. Faced with the dilemma of cultural communication, especially the situation that the digitalization ability of small and medium-sized museums needs to be improved, the "Star Project" was officially launched on May 18, 2023, aiming to explore the cultural value of museums, promote the deep integration of museums and modern technology by integrating the characteristic collection resources of small and medium-sized museums and the technical advantages of Tencent platform, and launch more museum products and services with visual presentation, interactive communication and immersive experience.
On the occasion of the first anniversary of the "Stars Project", the launch of the "Stars Time Mirror" is linked with the live broadcast of the museum theme, which has become a concentrated presentation of the digital ability of the activation and utilization of cultural relics. Under the digital collection, each cultural relic is given a unique digital identity, and thousands of cultural relics and their stories will be stored in the cloud forever, helping museums to integrate and enhance the innovative mode of online and offline service experience.
Rebuilding Multi-cultural Position with Four Standardized Digital Capability Modules
Since the launch of the "Stars Project", based on digital technologies such as Tencent’s exploration platform, WeChat Ecology and digital toolbox, it has provided four standardized digital capability modules for museums, including museum applets, video number toolbox, digital creative and digital operation personnel training.
The museum applet integrates the functions of booking tickets, exhibition news, digital display of cultural relics in the collection, voice explanation, video number linkage, social education activities, etc., to create a comprehensive online and offline experience and service platform for museums and build a digital position for museums, which has helped 32 museums launch official applets.

The video number toolbox relies on the WeChat video number platform to create a media traffic matrix of Wenbo through content proofing, event fission and special live broadcast, which helps small and medium-sized museums to express their stories in a diversified way and enhance the museum’s attention and influence. Linked video numbers aggregate the user traffic of Wenbo, and invite creators to split the content, achieving 35.8 million plays. Video No.2 Scissors developed special effect templates for 7 museums, attracting 300+10,000 creators to publish graphic content. The total number of fans of the official WeChat official account and video number who participated in the live broadcast of the museum increased by 39%.
Digital cultural and creative ability module, based on the exploration platform, connects cultural and creative ecological resources, promotes the value mining and active utilization of museum cultural relics, and helps the museum to authorize and trade digital resources. For example, the "Antiquities Rejuvenation YOUNG" Cultural and Creative Competition, in conjunction with 10 provincial and municipal cultural relics bureaus, 114 museums, 25 high-quality cultural and creative enterprises, as well as universities and service organizations, conducted a cultural and creative design competition. Provided cultural and creative design schemes for more than 400 pieces of cultural relics digital resources in nearly 100 museums, and produced a total of 2,246 outstanding entries with diverse forms; Some of the outstanding cultural and creative design works finally selected are ready for development and production, such as Sanxingdui Museum and Yumen Museum in Gansu Province.

In terms of digital operation personnel training, Tencent has delivered resources to small and medium-sized museums, and at the same time, under the organization of Sichuan Cultural Relics Bureau, Shandong Cultural Relics Bureau and Shaanxi Cultural Relics Bureau, it has exported standardized guidelines on how to make good use of digital tools to promote the construction of museum volunteer system.
In the future, the "Star Project" will continue to explore innovative modes of upgrading digital tools. On the basis of helping the museum to build an online official digital platform, it will further provide the museum with offline Chen Zhan and interactive experience products. The "Star Project" connects science and technology with culture, and continues to help small and medium-sized museums develop sustainably, improve science and technology, and promote the sharing of digital achievements of Chinese civilization through the innovative application of digital capabilities and the opening of resources.
