"Long live the Communist Party of China (CPC)!" "Our good days are coming!" On December 12, 1948, in the hometown of Li Dazhao, one of the main founders of the Communist Party of China (CPC), cheers of joy resounded through the earth, and Tangshan returned to the embrace of the people, opening a magnificent new development process.
After the Communist Party of China (CPC) took over the "mess", Tangshan party and government organizations at all levels proposed to mobilize the enthusiasm of the people in the city to fully restore and develop production. Thus, with the spirit of "three donkey legs make revolution", the spirit of "contemporary foolish man" with "Wan Li carrying a thousand acres of land and creating high yield on bluestone boards", and the red flag of Kailuan coal mine inspired by the spirit of "special fighting" … these spirits have cast a model of self-reliance in the early days of the construction of new China and become an example of Tangshan people’s integration of family and country and sharing weal and woe. While the urban development is booming, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Tangshan on July 28th, 1976. Under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the heroic people of Tangshan were reborn from destruction and rose in rebirth, creating a miracle on earth with the "anti-seismic spirit" and witnessing the superiority of the socialist system.
2010年和2016年，习近平总书记两次视察唐山，作出了“三个努力建成”和“三个走在前列”的重要指示，为英雄城市再创辉煌擘画了蓝图、指明了方向。唐山人民牢记嘱托，勇毅前行，吹响了创新绿色高质量发展的号角，城市发展打开了新局面，开启了新境界。
从解放之初的百废待兴，到今天的欣欣向荣，“唐山市是中国从‘站起来’到‘富起来’再到‘强起来’的一个缩影。”
